1. Determination of the type of oil pump: oil pumps commonly used in vacuum oil purifiers can be divided into gear pumps, centrifugal vane pumps and plunger pumps according to their structure.
a). Gear pumps are used in low-pressure systems and are not sensitive to oil contamination.
b). The characteristics of the centrifugal vane pump are uniform output flow, small pulsation, low noise, and sensitivity to oil pollution. But the oil absorption characteristics are not very good.
c). Plunger pumps are easy to obtain high-precision coordination, have low leakage probability and high volumetric efficiency. It is often used in high-pressure systems with centrifugal vane pumps because they are very sensitive to oil contamination.
For the above reasons, gear pumps should be selected as the first choice for the inlet and outlet oil pumps of the vacuum oil dehydration plant.
2. Determination of oil pump parameters and working pressure: In order to improve the reliability of the system and extend the service life of the pump, the normal working pressure of the oil pump in the vacuum oil filter is generally 70-80% of the rated pressure of the pump. The working pressure of the oil pump should not be higher than 0.5 MPa, because the system runs under negative pressure without hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors and other actuators.
3. Determining the working flow of the oil pump: When the oil dehydration machine is working, the flow rate of the oil pump must be greater than the machine’s.
4. Determining the power of the motor: In general, the working parameters of the pump should be within the efficiency curve area of the pump, usually calculated as 0.8. Considering that the motor generally allows 25% overload in a short time, the motor power can be determined after checking other working conditions.
